தார் அமர் கொன்றையும் சண்பக மாலையும் சாத்தும் தில்லை
ஊரர்தம் பாகத்து உமை மைந்தனே.-உலகு ஏழும் பெற்ற
சீர் அபிராமி அந்தாதி எப்போதும் எந்தன் சிந்தையுள்ளே-
கார் அமர் மேனிக் கணபதியே.-நிற்கக் கட்டுரையே. --- காப்பு
ஞானமும நல்விதையும் பெற
1: உதிக்கின்ற செங்கதிர், உச்சித் திலகம், உணர்வுடையோர்
மதிக்கின்ற மாணிக்கம், மாதுளம்போது, மலர்க்கமலை
துதிக்கின்ற மின் கொடி, மென் கடிக் குங்கும தோயம்-என்ன
விதிக்கின்ற மேனி அபிராமி, எந்தன் விழுத் துணையே:
பிரிந்தவர் ஓன்று சேர
2: துணையும், தொழும் தெய்வமும் பெற்ற தாயும், சுருதிகளின்
பணையும் கொழுந்தும் பதிகொண்ட வேரும்-பனி மலர்ப்பூங்
கணையும், கருப்புச் சிலையும், மென் பாசாங்குசமும், கையில்
அணையும் திரிபுர சுந்தரி-ஆவது அறிந்தனமே.
குடும்பக்கவலையிலிருந்து விடுபட
3: அறிந்தேன், எவரும் அறியா மறையை, அறிந்துகொண்டு
செறிந்தேன், நினது திருவடிக்கே,-திருவே.- வெருவிப்
பிறிந்தேன், நின் அன்பர் பெருமை எண்ணாத கரும நெஞ்சால்,
மறிந்தே விழும் நரகுக்கு உறவாய மனிதரையே.

karadayan nonbu/Karadaiyan Nonbu

Karadayan Nonbu is a famous Tamil festival celebrated at the time during the transition of Tamil Month Maasi and Panguni. Savitri brought back her husband Sathya van from the hands of Yama deva, God of death, on this day.To honour this, this day is celebrated as karada yan nonbu or Savitri vrath. It is a belief that Savitri cooked such a dish and offered it to the lord along with unmelted butter as thanksgiving for giving back her husband’s life.

Karadayan Nonbu is observed by all married ladies for the well-being of their husband. In the north, karwa chauth is celebrated similar to karadayan nonbu.The unmarried ladies also observe Karadaiyan Nonbu and pray to Goddess Shakti to get smart men as their husband. This year Karadayan Nonbu is on 14th March 2016 and the nonbu (tieing the charadu) can be done between 10.00 AM and 10.22 AM.

Varalakshmi Vratam

Varalakshmi Vratam is a festival celebrated by married women to please the goddess, Lakshmi. Varalakshmi gives Varam. It is an important pooja performed by women in Andhra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra for the well-being of the family.  ’Vara Lakshmi Vrata’ is celebrated on the Second Friday in July–August. 

It is believed that worshipping  Varalakshmi on this day is equivalent to worshipping will bring  Wealth, Earth, Learning, Love, Fame, Peace, Pleasure, and Strength. Anybody can do this rather. There is no restriction.
